The economic potential of the ICT sector is the topic of the day in all Western Balkan countries. Despite the recent economic crisis, the ICT industry in the region is growing.  Many ICT companies recently turned to implementation of Quality Models and Standards, such as CMMI, in order to improve their overall performance in business, manufacturing, finance and value creation aspects. Thus, regional small and medium sized companies from the region can collaborate with big vendors from the United States.  Currently, Western Balkan ICT companies are successfully implementing different joint projects with American companies of all sizes in the development of particular product components, as subcontractors for product development, or as implementers of software products.  American companies will have access to quality professionals from Western Balkans.  Most importantly, through partnerships with ICT companies from the region, American companies can also look to opportunities in the European Union and Eurasia regions.

We are very pleased that His Excellency Genc Pollo, Minister of Innovation, Technology, Information and Communication, Albania, will be a panelist for the Southeast Europe IT panel.

We are very pleased that George Brashnarov, Vice President, PAN European ICT & eBusiness Network for SME (PIN-SME), will be a panelist for the Southeast Europe IT panel.  PIN-SME is an association formed in 2007 to represent the interests of Europe’s ICT SME sector. Currently ten national and regional associations are members, representing some 50,000 ICT SME companies that account for around 200k jobs.
